Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD’s) Innovation Council (MIC) has been established under the MHRD, Govt. of India for creating the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Mainly, the MIC produces the environment to encourage, inspire and bring up young students to generate innovative ideas and transform them into prototypes while they are informative years. The MIC will provide the HEIs to meet the criteria like Having pre-incubation centers/incubation centers, student idea clubs, Participated in ARIIA Ranking, Participated in NIRF Ranking, NBA/NAAC Accreditation, Recipient of TEQIP –III fund & establishment of Start-up Cell, Government/ Government funded/Deemed University, and HEIs offering non-technical programs can also establish IIC. Jayamukhi Institute of Technological Sciences established Institution's Innovation Council (IIC-JITS) under MHRD's Innovation Cell, an initiative launched in November of 2018. IIC-JITS works towards inculcating the spirit of innovation among students and develop a start-up ecosystem, and also the students participate in mentoring sessions, workshops, and innovative idea competitions.
